Wrinkle-Free Hunting

Through all the years I have hunted, I have observed the subtle and not so subtle rituals my hunting buddies have performed before going on stand. Some wear a lucky hat or bring a favorite rifle. Some hunt during certain moon phases or some, like myself, may have to call on a higher power for assistance before each stand. My all-time favorite ritual, though, has to be the time I showed up to my friend Torry Cook’s house and witnessed him ironing his hunting clothes before embarking on a full day of coyote hunting in the swamps. There was nothing scientific about it. There was no earthly reason why perfectly wrinkle-free camo would give him an advantage over one of the stealthiest creatures in the woods. But after a day of watching Torry call in and kill more coyotes than I had seen up to that point in my life, I started looking into how much an iron and ironing board cost.
