Collage antler display low

My dad was a successful deer hunter, so I grew up in a house with whitetail shoulder mounts in our living room, and multiple antler racks on boards on the walls of our basement.

When I got older and started killing my own animals, I followed suit, except I hung all of the trophies in my living room instead of a basement.

I recently made one big change in my display plan, however, and I’m liking it so much that I wanted to share it with you. Previously, I placed European mounts on top of my gun cabinet, and while they looked fine there, I always thought it was difficult to see the antler details because they were so high.

As the top photo (right) shows, I recently placed two European mounts on a wooden bench in my living room. I also removed my biggest shed antler from the top of the gun cabinet and placed it on the bench between two European mounts.

The biggest advantage to having the antler shed on the bench is now visitors to my home can easily hold and examine it. No longer do I have to stand on a stool and reach above the gun cabinet to retrieve it.

The two European mounts, which I have displayed on a product called the Table Hooker (company name is Skull Hooker), are now at a height where you can see every detail. Both of these bucks have a lot of mass on the bases, plus some stickers, and I find myself staring at the racks every time I walk into my living room.

Note: In case you’re wondering, the Table Hookers do an excellent job of securely holding the heavy racks. I’m not tip-toeing around them.

I highly recommend that you consider making this same change to your antler display. I love it!
