When it comes to fishing stories, 14-year-old angler Connor Halsa of Moorhead, Minnesota, has one that will likely never be topped.
Connor was fishing on gigantic Lake of the Woods (about 70 miles wide and 70 miles long) along the United States/Canada border. It’s a prime destination for anglers targeting walleyes, muskies, smallmouth bass, northern pike and more.
The teen fisherman thought he’d hooked a walleye, but it turned out to be a wallet filled with cash — $2,000! It had been lost a year prior, by a walleye fisherman from Iowa. Connor was able to track down the rightful owner by finding a business card with legible writing inside the wallet. Well done, Connor.
