Bear Archery enters the marketplace this year with the all new Arena bow line, the third addition to the hugely popular speed bows powered by Bear's Synchronized Hybrid Cam System. These two new flagship models give bowhunters more versatility than they have seen before from Bear.
The Arena is available in 30- and 34-inch axle-to-axle lengths. Both models feature a 6.5-inch brace height to beautifully balance speed and forgiveness, and both are packed with technology -- a testament to Bear's commitment to innovation, design and smart engineering. The Arena comes with the newly designed H15 Hybrid Cams, which are smooth all the way through the draw cycle, easy to let down if need be and come with optional cable stops or even more rock-solid limb stops. Thanks to the H15 Hybrid Cams, both Arena models are capable of reaching speeds up to 345 feet per second.
The high-tech features you'd expect from a Bear flagship bow are present and accounted for in the Arena. Take the Bear Hinge Guard, which greatly reduces lateral torque on the riser and limbs to wring out every last bit of accuracy, for example. Bear's removable rubber grip adds to the bow's versatility. Meanwhile, the Arena's dead-silent and shock-free shot is compliments of the bi-dimensionally adjustable string suppressors, and Bear's Contraband HP strings and cables are manufactured through a propriety process with top-quality materials.
"For the last couple years, we've offered bows with 6- and 7-inch brace heights," said Bear Marketing Manager Jason Pickerill. "This year, however, we've blended those two optimal brace heights – the fast 6-inch and the forgiving 7-inch – to create a bow with a 6.5-inch brace height that delivers both speed and forgiveness.
"At the same time, we're offering the Arena in two different lengths. We've been hearing for a few years that people want a shorter axle-to-axle length, so that's what we did in the Arena 30. But we've also been hearing that people want a longer bow, so that's what we gave them in the Arena 34.
"Honestly, you just have to shoot these bows yourself. They're so forgiving and so efficient, and the H15 Hybrid Cams give the Arena an incredibly smooth draw cycle. With these cams, you can pull the bow back and let it down if you have to without tearing your shoulder up. You can rest comfortably at anchor and make adjustments without the bow just taking off. For the speed you get, these are really shootable bows."
The Arena 30 and 34 are available in Realtree Xtra Green, AP Snow, Shadow, Olive and Sand finishes.
