Don Higgins is a well-known deer hunter and whitetail land consultant. He is co-host of the popular podcast Chasing Giants with Higgins Outdoors, and his YouTube channel (by the same name) contains several hundred informative videos to help deer hunters grow and kill mature bucks.
In the 4-minute Facebook video below, Don explains in detail why it’s critical to give a mature whitetail buck a wind that makes him feel safe to get him on his feet in daylight. Don is on a permission property that he knows from the past, but it’s been at least 5 years since he’s hunted it.
Listen closely and think about how you can apply this game changing advice to your own hunting land. As Don likes to say, “If someone tells you there is no need to worry about the wind, find someone else to listen to.”
