Proposed Archery Equipment Changes For South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Commission has proposed several changes to archery equipment regulations.

Among the suggestions: remove the barbed point broad head restriction; remove terms “bolts or darts” from the archery rules; allow the use of cameras, video cameras and cellphones; change the size of compound bows; and allow hunters to use mechanical broad heads for elk hunting.

The entire proposal is available on the GFP website. The commission will finalize the plan June 5-6 in Yankton. Written comments can be sent to wildinfo@state.sd.us.
