KARTHAUS, Pa. (AP) — A second man has been sentenced for his role in illegally killing three bull elk in central Pennsylvania in September, including one of the largest bulls ever recorded in the commonwealth.

WJAC-TV reports 20-year-old Cody Lyons, of MIlesburg, has been sentenced to 30 days to six months in jail, followed by a year's probation. He's also been fined more than $10,000 by a Clearfield County judge.

Twenty-five-year-old Frank Buchanan Jr., of Bellefonte, pleaded guilty in October and was sentenced to 90 days to 18 months in jail. He was also fined $9,000 and must pay the state $11,500 to replace the elk.

Court records show a third man, 48-year-old Jeffrey Bickle, of Bellefonte, is still awaiting trial.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission says the men planned to sell the elks' antlers.
