Derek Jeter is a larger-than-life icon in the sports world. There are only a handful of athletes that carry the name recognition Jeter does. It doesn’t matter if you like baseball or not. People know Derek Jeter.
The Derek Jeter farewell train has made stops in almost all the MLB cities by now, but it’s most awaited and largest celebration took place Sunday at Yankee Stadium.
Jeter is a sure-fire first ballot hall of famer. By all accounts, he’s a stand up guy who rarely, if ever, ruffles feathers. He’s not Alex Rodriguez or Ted Nugent. He’s universally loved.
But, “The Captian” can't compete with Colorado elk hunting!
Former World Series winning teammate, Andy Pettitte, skipped out on Jeterfest to go on a family elk hunting adventure in Colorado.
It seems Pettitte had the elk trip planned for quite some time.
Pettitte’s son Josh posted a picture to his Twitter account showing he and his dad decked out in hunting gear.
Unfortunately, the Pettitte father and son team did not fill their tags.
Had a blast elk hunting with this one in Colorado! Coolest experience ever! pic.twitter.com/GU7LvfOoEU
