When it comes to producing informative and entertaining gun content on YouTube, in my opinion there’s nobody better than Hickok45. He has a massive following on YouTube (8M subscribers to his main channel) and has posted nearly 3,000 videos — his first in 2008. Hickok45’s extensive firearm experience, matched with his calm demeanor and commonsense opinions, have earned him a well-deserved outstanding reputation in the gun community.
Hickok45 does most of his shooting and videos in his backyard range, and that is the case with the one below. He annually “carves” a pumpkin for Halloween with a handgun, and his choice in 2025 is a Dan Wesson Guardian in .45 ACP. As you’ll see, the semiauto holds eight cartridges in the magazine, so he must reload a couple times to complete his carving.
Granted, Hickok45 isn’t sitting too far away from the pumpkin, but that’s still some impressive shooting (open sights and freehand). And note that there are no edits/cutaways in this 2-minute video. Happy Halloween from Hickok45!
