MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife has set the dates for this year's snow goose hunting season.

The 2014 snow goose hunting season in Vermont will run from March 11 through April 25. The daily bag limit is 15 snow geese, and there is no possession limit.

Since 2009 hunters have been able to pursue snow geese during the spring as a result of a special management action by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service referred to as a "conservation order," which has been adopted by the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Board.

The measure was in response to concerns about a growing number of snow geese across North America.

Hunters must have a Vermont hunting license and other permits required to hunt migratory waterfowl.
