JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Hunters will no longer have to be out of sight of a deer feeder as long as it's 100 yards away.

Multiple news outlets report the Mississippi Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks approved Wednesday a change proposed in August that would do away with the "line of sight'' restriction in the supplemental feeding law.

The commission based its decision in part on a survey showing 52 percent of Mississippi hunters approve the change, while 37 percent oppose it.

The change will take effect Nov. 1.
