ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — State wildlife officials are tracking down a bear that attacked a runner near Los Alamos.
KOB-TV reports the runner encountered a female bear and her cub on a trail Wednesday night and tried to make noise to scare them off. The bear charged him, knocked him into a stream and attacked him.
He was taken to the hospital with deep wounds and scratches.
Game and Fish officers are looking for the bear to test it for rabies.
