An unidentified man in Washington state fought off a bear attack and escaped with minor injuries.

The man, who was not identified, was attacked on August 3 by the bear at approximately 8:30 a.m. on a trail in Whatcom County. He sustained multiple injuries to his hands and feet while defending himself from the bear. The man received medical care at a local hospital and was released on the same day.
