LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will host a free public workshop on how people can protect themselves against bears, lions and wolves in the backcountry.

The workshop is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 12 at the Game and Fish office in Laramie.

Wildlife officials say wolf attacks on people are rare but sometimes wolves get into conflicts with people's dogs. Topics to be covered at the workshop include how to use pepper spray and how to properly store food in the backcountry.
