Coyotes moving into big cities has been more than proven, but one Chicagoan has added extra proof.
A video posted on LiveLeak.com by ChicagoWoodsman on Aug. 1 documents what started as a casual hike through Miller Meadow Forest Preserve with two dogs and transitioned to a run in with two coyotes.
The nearly 3-minute video includes close interaction with a noticeably irritable coyote that continues howling and barking at the cameraman, all the while the two dogs remain calm. A second coyote is seen at one point in the background before the first predator runs back into heavily wooded area.
So, just how close was the coyote sighting to Chicago? Miller Meadow Forest Preserve is less than a 30-minute drive from downtown Chicago. The video can be viewed below:
