Sometimes coyotes don't come within 30 or 40 yards of your set and hightail it out of the area.
Why? Who knows? Maybe their sixth sense sent a warning sign to their brain. Maybe they saw the glint of a riflescope or someone moving. Or perhaps ... well, who knows? They're wild coyotes doing their thing. They don't always play by the book.
That's when long-range shooting skills come into play. If the songdogs aren't coming close, get ready to shoot long and possibly when they're on the run. Al Morris and Don Steele with Foxpro are in New Mexico prowling around the vast desert calling and hunting.
