BESSEMER, Mich. (AP) — Criminal charges have been authorized against two Upper Peninsula hunters accused of videotaping hunting dogs mauling a wounded coyote.

MLive.com reports court records show a 45-year-old and a 34-year-old man charges including one count of killing/torturing animals, a four-year felony. Both are from Ironwood.

The men could be arraigned as soon as Monday in Gogebic County District Court.

A Freedom of Information Act request found that the hunters also were investigated after they allegedly videotaped a wounded coyote deliberately hit by a truck.

Court documents last year described videos that one of the men had uploaded to YouTube. They've since been taken down.

The cases were investigated by the law enforcement division of the Department of Natural Resources.
