Two Unique Shed Antler Displays

These two DIY shed antler displays take significant skill and time to build, but the final results are spectacular.

I’ve seen many ways of displaying shed antlers, and frankly, I’m not a big fan of most of them. In my home, I have a few of my favorite sheds displayed on a coffee table. I like that friends can pick up the antlers to examine the finer details and differences of each one.

Below are two shed displays that caught my eye on social media during the winter. As I recall, the corner display (below) was built by a high school student for shop class. On the Facebook page where he posted the photo of his creation, people expressed interest in buying one, and he said he’d make more. I don’t remember the exact price, but it wasn't cheap; $500-ish I think.

Because I’m not a handyman, I’ll someday pay a buddy with building skills to make one for me. I like that the sheds can be touched and rearranged, plus it’s a way to display one European mount. The dramatic lighting is excellent. I hope the kid received an “A” from his shop teacher.

The Facebook video below showcases another incredible shed display — a head-and-shoulder mount built from antlers. It’s truly a work of art. I can’t tell from the video, which is credited to Ross Daake, if there’s anything used to hold the many antlers (some full, some pieces) in place; I think there must be epoxy at the very least, maybe small screws, too. I’m sure I have enough antlers in boxes to create this mount, but I certainly don’t have the skill.
