POLL: Do You Think High-Fence Hunting Is Ethical?

A recent bill in Indiana to protect high-fence hunting in the state and the threatened boycott of a popular movie star for his part ownership of a Texas hunting preserve raise serious issues over the controversial practice.

POLL: Do You Think High-Fence Hunting Is Ethical?

It's a question that surely stirs the emotion of just about every hunter. Whether you're a "fair chase" aficionado or "if it's brown it's down" zealot — or somewhere in between — the issue over high-fence hunting can split a hunting camp into us versus them.

Recent controversy over movie star Matthew McConaughey's Texas ranch and a new law making its way through the Indiana House have brought this issue back to the forefront of the hunting community. Do high-fence preserves help maintain strong deer herds and offer hunters a sporting pursuit of their game, or are they hermitically-sealed petri dishes for disease and about as sporting as "dog fights," as one lawmaker put it.

Where do you come down on the ethics of high-fence hunting?
