Hawke Optics Offers New Slug Gun Scope

Hawke Optics out of the U.K. has been making inroads in the U.S. market in recent years, developing a reputation for quality glass at an everyman price. This season the company has added a slug gun-specific scope to its popular Endurance line.

The Slug Gun SR is built on a 1-inch tube and offers generous eye relief of 4 inches — forgiving enough to save you from the dreaded “scope bite.” The Slug Gun SR also features a ballistic reticle that you can calibrate to just about any round combination in shotguns, muzzleloaders, and many straight-walled cartridge rifles. The reticle offers you three aimpoints for 100, 150 and 200 yards, simplifying the aiming process. Just sight the gun in at 100 yards on 6X. Then move the target to 150, shoot a group, and adjust the magnification in half-power increments until your groups are hitting point-of-aim. Then you’re done — the scope is calibrated to this particular load out to 200 yards.

Features include fully multi-coated optics for clarity, ¼ M.O.A. low-profile “no snag” fingertip turrets, fast-focus eyebell and high torque zoom ring. As you’d expect from any good scope these days, the Slug Gun SR is nitrogen-purged and 100 percent waterproof, shockproof and fogproof. Take advantage of Hawke’s free BRC program, which allows the blueprinting of the projectile to any Hawke multiple aim-point reticle. Find it at www.hawkeoptics.com.

At $249 and with a transferable warranty, this scope deserves serious consideration from any slug gun hunter.
