Rader Lodge is located near Glen Elder, KS, and offers 25,000 acres of prime hunting land in the deer-rich north-central part of the state. Hunting options include pheasant, archery/rifle whitetail, and turkey hunting along with guided fishing packages on Waconda Lake. Guided deer hunts have been going on for 20 years, and Jeff Rader and his staff work very hard to make sure you don't lack anything during your hunt. They are also confident you will get a good look at a 140-plus Pope-and-Young-class buck during your hunt. Like Jeff says, "You'll have to put in your time, and we'll be right there with you."

Rader Lodge was established in 1986 by Jeff Rader and his family. Jeff, a former railroad engineer, took a buy-out and used that lump sum to help get the lodge started. Located in the north-central part of the state, the Smoky Hills follow the Smoky Hill River to the east. The Smoky Hills region is characterized by vast areas of rolling grassland and some dramatic topography. The land is farmed along the river bottoms, and this combination of permanent native cover and agriculture provides great habitat for pheasant, quail, prairie chickens, turkey, coyotes and whitetail deer.

All nonresident deer tags are issued by drawing. All applications must be submitted online or over the phone by calling (620) 672-0728. You must apply in one unit and also select one adjacent unit in which you may also hunt, as well as the season choice (archery, muzzleloader or firearm) at the time of application.
