CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says the quota in another wolf area has been met and will be closed for the remainder of the season.

Spokesman Alan Dubberley says wolf hunt area 5 has reached its quota of three wolves.

Hunt area 5 encompasses a large area around Dubois in the Wind River and Absaroka mountain ranges.

It is the second wolf hunt area to close this hunting season. Hunt area 10 southeast of Jackson reached its quota of one wolf on opening day.

The wolf hunting season began Oct. 1 and ends Dec. 31, 2013 except for hunt area 12 south of Jackson, which opens Oct. 15 and closes Dec. 31.
