May 19th started like any other typical Sunday on the Odde Ranch, in North Central South Dakota along the Missouri River. I saddled up my young mare and headed out to check the cows and for any newborn calves, when a lone coyote spooked up in the draw ahead of me. Not having a gun, I turned to my only other option, my rope. I chased the coyote across the pasture, and he seemed to not be bothered by my horse and I. Took me three tries, but I finally ended up catching the young coyote!
