When I finally shot my first called-in coyote, I was so excited I decided to post the story on a popular predator-hunting forum. Most everyone on the forum congratulated me, but there were some who questioned the details.
Eighty yards with a 12-gauge shotgun? That seemed suspicious to them but it was true. I walked off the distance multiple times. But these people didn’t know me, and I quickly realized my story’s validity was at risk.
So I drew a cartoon and attached it to my post. Suddenly, all my skeptics had changed their minds. That’s the power of cartoons, and a 12-gauge shotgun at 80 yards.
