The guys from Big Woods Bucks in Maine post a lot of great content to their YouTube channel (109K subscribers and 566 videos at the time of this writing). Click here to check it out.
In the 10-second video at the bottom of this page, you’ll see one of the many moose sheds found recently by their dogs. On the Big Woods Bucks Facebook page, the guys wrote: “Moose gods blessed us the past 3 days with 41 sheds and a lifetime of memories with some great friends!” (Photo above.)
In researching this topic, I watched an episode of the Big Woods Bucks Podcast, and their guest was Caleb Lewis (below) of Allagash Antlers. Not only does Lewis search for moose sheds with his dogs, but he’s turned those found antlers into a thriving business. Lewis cuts up the sheds into dog chews of various sizes. As Lewis wrote on his website: “Wolves have been chewing antlers for thousands of years as a key source of essential nutrients and dental hygiene. It’s in your dog’s DNA to love them!”
Enjoy the video clip.
P.S. Good dog!!
