If you run trail cams long enough, especially during summer, eventually you’ll end up with ones that are infested with bugs. Not good.
I recently ran across a clever hack to this problem while scrolling through my Facebook Feed. The simple tip comes from Jason Say, owner of food plot seed company Magnet Outdoors. Jason explains that placing cams in the freezer for about 30 minutes will kill the bugs.
Important point: Jason uses a garage freezer. If you don’t have a garage freezer, should you utilize the one in your house? That’s a tough call . . . especially for those of you who are married and your partner doesn’t share your passion for whitetail hunting. It’s clear from the video that Jason’s wife tolerates his trail cam/bug hack. Tread lightly.
PS: Be sure to turn up the volume on the Facebook video.
