Inside the Mathews Retailer Business Show—part 2

Some of the best new bow gear for 2013 was on display at the 5th Annual Mathews Retailer Business Show, held December 3-5 at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

Several members of team Archery Business were on hand for the show that is held exclusively for Mathews retailers, Lost Camo licensees, and Mathews TV sponsors—and highlights all the latest Mathews and Mission bows and Lost Camo licensed products.

More than 150 Lost Camo licensees and nearly 400 Mathews retailers were on hand for the event, which also offered an opportunity to “test drive” the latest Mathews bows, which include the Creed with its new Simplex Solocam design, and the Monster Chill dual cam, part of the Mathews McPherson Series line.

The physical designs and geometry of compound bows and crossbows have changed drastically over the years, requiring equally drastic changes in the presses used to safely and effectively service them. A great “do-it-all” universal (and speedy) design is the new X-Press bow press shown here by Dave Stock.

Blood trailing after dark can be tricky business. Making it easier in 2013 is the goal of the new Blood Track-R light from Elusive Wildlife Technologies, displayed here by the company’s Jonathan Hill.

While still hunting or stalking, sitting in a makeshift natural blind, or 18 feet up in a treestand, few things help bowhunters disappear in the field as effectively as three-dimensional camo. All are great reasons to check out the new Eclipse 3D camo from Eclipse Hunting Apparel, shown off here by Gary Smith.

New for 2013, the Mathews Creed—shown being shot here by Grand View Media Editorial Director Mike Strandlund—features the all-new SimPlex solocam, a big part of the reason the 30-inch axle-to-axle Creed is being touted as the smoothest-drawing single cam bow ever created. The bow offers a brace height of 7 inches, weighs just 3.85 pounds, and features an IBO speed rating of 328 fps.
