Not many kids — or adults — have an adventure like Blake White experienced.
The 6-year-old and his family were fishing off Rock Harbor on Sunday afternoon when Blake hooked a Great White Shark, CBS Boston reports. Lars White, Blake’s father, said it wasn’t until 90 minutes later until they reeled the shark in close enough to take several pictures and cut the line to release the shark.
“My brother thought it was, he thought it was a submarine,” Blake told WBZ. “It felt super strong.”
CBS Boston reports the Atlantic Great White Shark Conservancy confirmed it is a great white based off pictures sent by Lars White. The father said the shark was 10 to 12 feet long.
The White family is from Houston. CBS Boston reports Blake said the next time he goes fishing he’s “going to catch a smaller fish.”
