Prime Bows By G5 New For 2014

Prime by G5 bows are some of the most-exciting available.

They continue to offer some exclusive technology you won't see anywhere else.

Prime AlloyAlloy

Prime’s new Alloy employs the super-stable Parallel Cam system in which two cams are more or less sandwiched together at each axle, slightly separated, with the string yoked to go around each cam. This balances the load evenly on either side of the cable, which virtually eliminates can lean and torque, reduces horizontal nock travel, and makes for a rock-steady shooting platform.

Complementing that approach are Prime’s wide limbs, machine forged riser, and flexible cable roller guard, along with the 331⁄4inches axle to axle.

The brace height is 63⁄4inches, and mass weight is 4.2 pounds. The draw weights are 50, 60, and 70 pounds, while draw lengths run from 26 to 30 inches.

At 335 fps it’s plenty fast. It’s also easy to tune, rock-steady on target, and very forgiving.

It can be purchased in Optifade Forest, Optifade Open Country, Realtree Xtra, and Jet Black, with a suggested retail price of $999 for the camo finishes, or $1,049 for Jet Black.

Prime DefyDefy

Looking for another sweet option? Prime by G5 continues to offer its proven Defy ($949) compound, designed to be short (31 inches axle to axle) and nearly bombproof, with its PCX cam system and the solid 7000 series forged riser that allows this bow to work in all hunting situations while still maintaining a Prime level of forgiveness to help hunters extend their range. You'll also find a brace height of 7.25 inches, an Ultra Fit Grip (a high-performance rubber molded grip that provides extra comfort and a consistent grip for all archers and can be removed for archers demanding a thinner grip) as well as 8190 BCY Strings (one of the toughest and most efficient bowstrings available). The Extra Wide Limbs create a solid and stable platform to increase accuracy and shootability; the design also enhances limb strength and reliability in the field and on the range. Mass weight is 4.1 pounds; the Defy is available in peak draw weights of 50, 60, and 70 pounds, draw lengths of 26 to 30 inches, and comes in standard finishes of Optifade Forest, Optifade Open Country, Realtree AP, and Jet Black.
