Baldy Awards Success

The annual "Baldy Awards" continued its long string of success at the ATA Trade Show in Columbus, raising more than $55,000 to fund cancer research during the unique hair-cutting ceremony held January 11.

The event began with five of the lovely ladies of bowhunting—Kandi Kisky, Angie Denny, Vicky Cianciarulo, Nicole Jones, and Michele Eichler—receiving haircuts for "Locks of Love" and to raise money for Dr. Leonard's cancer research.

Those same ladies then had the privilege of cutting someone else's hair when Drake "Little D" Taylor, the "Voice of Pods"; from Huntin' Is Good!

Nashville recording artist Colton James kicked off the "Ladies Locks" event with a performance of "What Keeps Her Strong," his song about a woman with cancer.

At that point, the "Baldies" took the stage: Tammi Gregory, in memory of her dad Tommy Pack, Keith Beam, in memory of his son Joel Ellis, Randy Ulmer, Del Delmastro, and Brooks Johnson. Joseph LaCorte, father of Nikon's Jon LaCorte, was also honored, and a special tribute to the men and women of the armed forces followed.

Several service members took the stage to lead the crowd in a moment of silence for all the troops lost in battle, and Colton James retook the stage to lead the tribute, performing a song titled "Brave Men."

Stay tuned for announcements regarding the 2013 "Baldies" event in Louisville, Kentucky; plans are already underway to several more industry celebrities.
