Bassmaster Elite angler Cory Johnston was targeting largemouth bass in a recent tournament on Santee Cooper Lakes (South Carolina), and as you’ll see in the Facebook video below, he catches a 5-pounder under a massive dock owned by Relaxed Retreat at Carolina King (a resort and marina).
In the split-screen video, the top video was filmed by the person on the dock, and the bottom video is from the in-boat cameraman.
After Cory lands the big bass, the person on the dock asks Cory and his cameraman if they’d like to enjoy breakfast sandwiches! How cool is that!? In a world and time where YouTube is filled with videos of homeowners losing their minds over anglers fishing too close to their docks, this friendly interaction is a breath of fresh air.
FYI: This 5-pounder helped Cory win the event in a landslide, earning him the first-place check of $100,000. During the four-day event (20 bass total), he brought to the scale 113 pounds, 12 ounces, a winning margin of nearly 20 pounds.
