Lisa Goodier is a guide with Ottawa River Musky Factory. The text below is her bio on the outfitter’s website:
Severely addicted to muskies! That’s a great way to describe Lisa. Although she caught her first musky just 12 years ago, Lisa will tell you that fish changed her life. She immediately went out and bought a boat and began spending almost every spare minute on the water. Her learning curve has had an enormous trajectory, and she has been a student of many well-known musky guides. All this led Lisa to make a major career change, and now going into her sixth season, Lisa is the only full-time female musky guide in Canada. With fish up to 52 inches, she has more than earned her stripes in her first few seasons.
In describing the entertaining Facebook video below, Lisa wrote:
I had a great trip recently with Derek, Jack, Will and Tim. There was only one problem . . . the guide isn’t supposed to catch the fish!
The guys were great sports about it as I caught it on my second cast of the day, just showing them how to work the bait. Good thing is we managed two in a half-day, with one being a new PB for the guys. Great time with awesome people.
As I was about to tell Tim before I got cut off by the musky, the great thing about Suick Thrillers is you can work them fast or slow, and at different depths depending on the conditions, time of year and musky mood.
I am so proud to be on the Suick pro staff team. They are a fourth generation family business — you don’t see that very often anymore. Congrats Mike Suick on recently becoming the fourth generation owner; 94 years and counting!
