In the two Facebook videos below, Kristine Fischer is pre-fishing for bass (2024 Bassmaster Kayak Series) on the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania. As you can see from the photo above, a good-sized musky found her bass lure attractive.
Before you watch the videos, let me take a moment to introduce you to Kristine. On her Facebook page, she writes this for her intro: “Just a closet musky angler trying to cash checks bass fishing.”
Well, that’s true, but she’s also being tremendously humble. She competes on the BASS, Hobie BOS and KBF national kayak bass trails, which has provided her the opportunity to fish all over the country during the past several years. She lives on the road in order to pre-fish and then compete in these various events.
Due to her dedication and skill, she’s become one of top tournament anglers on the kayak circuit. She’s the first woman to win the Hobie Bass Open Tournament of Champions, which is generally regarded as the biggest event in kayak bass fishing. In 2021, she topped 50 of the best kayak bass anglers in the world for a first-place check of $35,000. (Note: In many tournaments, she’s the only woman competitor.)
Kristine also excels at online fishing content creation. She’s been making YouTube fishing videos for 7 years. (FYI: Her first YouTube video was also a musky catch.) Kristine's YouTube channel has 152K subscribers, her Facebook page has 208K followers, and her Instagram account has 206K followers.
Specific to her recent musky catch, Kristine wrote: “Here’s my musky from yesterday! Slurped a wake bait in the push water on the Susquehanna River, pre-fishing for the tournament. Definitely won’t forget this one. Knee is feeling a lot better today!”
