O.H. Ivie Reservoir in Texas Is on Fire With Trophy Largemouth Bass

During the past 10 days, no lake on the planet has been hotter for trophy largemouth bass than O.H. Ivie Reservoir in Texas.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir in Texas Is on Fire With Trophy Largemouth Bass

O.H. Ivie Reservoir was impounded on the Colorado and Concho rivers in 1990 and then stocked with Florida-strain largemouth bass. The 19,000-acre reservoir is located about 55 miles east of San Angelo, Texas.

As you can see in the photos below, the lake has recently been on fire for trophy largemouth bass. The pics and captions shown are from the Toyota ShareLunker program Facebook page.

FB post from Feb. 28, 2021: Another Sunday another new personal best for angler Josh Jones. He has followed up his submission last week of SL591 with today's 15.40lbs SL596 from O.H.Ivie! That makes 6 this season from Ivie matching the 6 turned in from Ivie in 2011. Will Ivie produce 12 like it did in 2010?

Not familiar with the Toyota ShareLunker program in Texas? Here’s a bit of history.

Since 1986, the Texas Parks & Wildlife’s Toyota ShareLunker program (www.texassharelunker.com) has worked with anglers to promote and enhance bass fishing in Texas. Each season (January 1 through December 31), anglers can partner with ShareLunker and be recognized for their achievement and contributions all year long. Click here to watch a 90-second video from Texas Parks & Wildlife promoting the program.

For an in-depth look into the program, check out the 16-minute video below that details a monster fish from Lake Fork and how it was returned to the water after assisting Texas Parks & Wildlife biologists with its ShareLunker program.
