To me, nothing says summer like a kid fishing in a pond. In the 1-minute video below, a youngster named Briar is casting for bass. He’s wearing a swimming suit, but he’s not wading to stay cool in the summer heat. Instead, he’s showing off his serious fishing skills while floating/balancing on a pool noodle.

I won’t spoil the ending by saying too much. I will, however, give Briar his due. This certainly isn’t his first big bass encounter. He handles the baitcasting rod like a pro. And I’m amazed he somehow stays atop the pool noodle while fighting the bass. Impressive!

I think the bass weighs close to 10 pounds. And as you’ll hear a woman on shore say clearly, Briar eventually holds the bass like a baby as he slowly kicks toward shore. Love it!
