Pope & Young Executive Secretary Loses Battle With Cancer

Kevin Daniel Hisey, 44, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at his home near Chatfield, Minnesota, after a nine-month battle with cancer.

Born on April 3, 1970, to Glenn and Marlene (Jefferis) Hisey, Kevin graduated valedictorian of Chosen Valley High School in 1988, and went on to study mathematics and engineering at the University of Minnesota, Morris, and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Kevin was currently employed by the Pope & Young Club, serving as executive secretary for the last 15 years, which is the longest in the Club’s history.

A passionate bowhunter and conservationist, Kevin was dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of bowhunting and to promoting the ethics of fair chase. He was an official measurer from 1988 to the present and was a panel judge at 11 different bienniums. As a measurer certification instructor, Kevin trained hundreds of official measurers at the Club’s annual workshops.

Pope & Young President Jim Willems had this to say about Kevin’s passing:

“This is such a great loss for his family and for the Club. Everywhere you look around the Pope & Young Club, you see Kevin’s dedication and passion. He did such a great job for the Club and he will be dearly missed by us all.”

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to the Elizabeth Hisey and Brayden Irish College Fund at the Root River State Bank (www.rrsbchatfield.com).
