VIDEO: Deer Free After Head Stuck In Pumpkin For Days

Residents in northeast Ohio say a deer whose head was stuck in a plastic Halloween pumpkin bucket for days has been freed and seems to be doing fine.

MENTOR, Ohio (AP) — Residents in northeast Ohio say a deer whose head was stuck in a plastic Halloween pumpkin bucket for days has been freed and seems to be doing fine.

Neighbors in Mentor east of Cleveland first spotted the deer with the pumpkin head last Wednesday and called authorities.

WKYC-TV in Cleveland reports officials with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources were in the area Monday to try to help the deer, but a local teenager was the one responsible for successfully freeing the animal after hiding in a hunting shelter and tackling the deer, causing the pumpkin to fall off.

The deer appeared to be fine, and ran off after it was freed.

Area residents say children in the neighborhood know not to leave their Halloween buckets out next year.
