New Mossberg Guns For 2015: The Big 5

Mossberg has a pile of new rifles and shotguns for 2015, but the ones you'll be really excited about are what the company is calling The Big 5.

New Mossberg Guns For 2015: The Big 5

Mossberg introduced what it’s calling ‘The Big 5” new guns last night at the 2015 SHOT Show. With more than 116 new SKUs for this year, Mossberg’s been busy innovating and putting out plenty of new options for today’s hunter.

The Mossberg Big 5:

1. Mossberg Patriot Bolt-Action

A new bolt-action rifle with classic styling and modern features, the Patriot comes in 11 calibers — including, a Mossberg first, the .375 Ruger. Features include a box magazine, Lightning Bolt Action (LBA) adjustable trigger, fluted barrel, a spiral fluted bolt, streamlined bolt handles, a classic stock shape and four stock finish options (walnut, laminate, black synthetic or Break-Up Infinity camo). You’ll find the Mossberg Patriot on dealer shelves around the $350 mark, a bargain by any measure. Certain models are also available with a Vortex scope for $450 to $500.

2. Blaze Rimfire

Mossberg’s newest rimfire autoloader utilizes a polymer barrel to bring the weight of the gun down to 3 to 3 ½ pounds. It’s just a good old reliable American-made rimfire. Features include a 25-round mag, available barrel-mounted Picatinny rail attachment, and options such as bantam stocks for youth, a holographic-style green dot, and a few really cool camo patterns — Muddy Girl, Wildfire Camo and Kryptek Highlander.

3. Blaze-47 Rimfire

If you’ve ever wanted a .22 AK-47 lookalike, Mossberg has got your answer with the Blaze-47. It’s built on the Blaze rimfire rifle but with AK-style features. Stock options include adjustable or fixed synthetic and fixed-LOP wood. Comes with your choice of 25- or 10-round magazine.

4. Four New MVP Lines

Four new MVP lines are coming out this year: The MVP-LC (light chassis) with Magpul stock, P-Mag and MOE pistol grip; the MVP LR (long range) and MVP LR Tactical, both with a push-button adjustable-comb stock and a grippy, soft-feel “Mosscote” coating; and a new MVP Scout rifle (pictured above) that Mossberg says is the only Scout rifle available that accepts AR magazines (in .308).

5. Mossberg 500 Series Left-Handed

Waterfowlers rejoice: Mossberg is introducing 15 different SKUs of left-handed shotguns, a first for the company. You can now get a variety of 500, FLEX 500, 590 and 590A1 shotguns in left-handed models.
