BUFFALO, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission has approved funding for several projects to improve habitat for mule deer in Carbon County.
Mule deer populations in Wyoming and across the West have been in decline for almost 20 years. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department started an initiative in 2007 focused on stopping this decline.
The approved projects would improve forage, migration corridors and areas where deer concentrate. Wildlife officials will work with many partners including the Muley Fanatic Foundation, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Bowhunters of Wyoming and other agencies.
