BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The state Game and Fish Department will continue a surveillance program for chronic wasting disease during the fall hunting seasons.
Officials will sample hunter-killed deer from 12 hunting units in the east and one in the southwest for both CWD and bovine tuberculosis. Moose and elk killed in the state also are eligible for testing.
CWD affects the nervous system of members of the deer family and is always fatal.
