Melissa Bachman is a longtime friend of mine, and I always enjoy watching her TV show, Winchester Deadly Passion. Melissa is one of the most dedicated hunters I know, and regardless of whether she’s carrying a bow or firearm, she’s able to capture some great footage in the field.

She recently posted this video clip on her Facebook page, and asked, “Can anyone relate to putting an arrow in your decoy?”
Thinking back through the years, I’d have to say my answer is “no.” I’m sure I’ve sprayed a few shotgun pellets into my turkey decoys, but not an arrow.
Check out her outstanding video below, and good luck arrowing your own turkey — and maybe decoy? — this spring! (Be sure to hit the "full screen" button for best viewing.)
P.S. Know that if Melissa wasn’t filming this hunt for TV, she’d have taken her shot much earlier during this gobbler vs. decoy encounter. She waits for the turkeys to really put on a show for viewers, then drops the hammer. Click here to read a recent story of mine about when to release an arrow on a turkey.
