More than 5 million hunters and outdoor recreation enthusiasts have downloaded the HuntStand or ScoutLook mobile app. Now the merger of the companies under the HuntStand brand will help build both with new technology and ideas.

After nearly a decade of healthy competition, HuntStand and ScoutLook have merged under the HuntStand brand to form the largest and most feature-rich hunting and outdoor recreation ecosystem in the world.

The two companies have generated more than 5 million app downloads and will continue to provide mapping and communication technology, along with relevant content for users. The HuntStand and ScoutLook business teams are fully integrated.

Lanford Holloway, CEO of HuntStand parent company TerraStride, said hunters and outdoor recreation enthusiasts will benefit greatly from the merger.

"ScoutLook has been a major player in the outdoor community for years and has gathered a large base of engaged users," he said. "We are very happy to welcome these users into the HuntStand ecosystem and to stand shoulder to shoulder with the talented ScoutLook team. While this merger will greatly benefit both of our companies, the real winner will be the entire outdoor community.

"We will now be able to provide both the best technology and the most relevant media in the industry. We also have some truly groundbreaking new features in the pipeline and we're looking forward to sharing them with the hunting and land management communities."

Effective immediately, the development team will begin creating the framework to seamlessly usher ScoutLook user accounts into the HuntStand platform. Further instructions for the migration will be presented to ScoutLook users later this month.

"As a passionate outdoorsman and entrepreneur, I couldn't be more excited to merge our talents with HuntStand's amazing team to bring our collective user base better solutions for life in the field," said Cy Weichert, who along with Bill Little co-founded ScoutLook. "We have some really impressive plans for combined investment into new cutting-edge tools for the hunt, and a vast array of video, social, and digital media to help you maximize and enjoy your time on the hunt. This is one of those clear times when the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts. We think the hunting world will be blown away by our combined offering."
