In the 10-minute YouTube video below, Levi Morgan is pursuing trophy mule deer at Big Horn Outfitters in Buffalo, Wyoming. He’s hunted with Big Horn Outfitters previously, and in his opinion, there’s no better place on the planet to bowhunt muleys.
Levi arrives a couple days before the rest of his group, and he heads out into the field for the first afternoon of his week-long adventure. And as you’ll see, everything on this spot-and-stalk attempt comes together perfectly.
The storytelling in this video is especially good in my opinion, with the stalk filmed from three perspectives/cameras (one close, one REAL close, and one distant). It offers the viewer a unique perspective on Levi’s stalk and eventual shot.
As you’ll notice, the wind is blowing steadily and in Levi’s favor, so the bedded muley can’t smell him or his cameraman. When the giant buck finally stands and then slowly walks out from behind the pine, it’s game over.
FYI: This summer, Levi won his 14th (not a misprint) ASA Open Pro Shooter of the Year title. He will likely never again have such a close-range shooting opportunity on a big muley. The word “chipshot” doesn’t even begin to describe how easy of a shot this is for Levi. The buck doesn’t make it far after being hit with the 100-grain Levi Morgan Series Swhacker two-blade mechanical broadhead (2-inch cut).
