Massive Velvet-Racked Mule Deer Hitting the Ground in August 2019

The late-summer 2019 archery season has started in several western states, and a few massive mule deer have already been tagged by some well-known bowhunters.

Chances are good you spend at least a few minutes a day on social media. I like to scroll through Facebook for 5 to 10 minutes every morning and evening just to see if any of my friends have posted something interesting.

I couldn’t help but notice several massive mule deer showing up in my Facebook timeline recently. For example, Lee and Tiffany Lakosky started their deer season in Utah, and Lee was first to connect. The Facebook photo and caption below were posted on Aug. 26, 2019.

Not long after Lee's post, his wife, Tiffany, began sharing pics from her pursuit. The images and captions below were posted on The Crush with Lee & Tiffany Facebook page.

Can you spot the buck Tiffany is hunting? (PS: It’s not the one in the upper-left side of the screen!)

Professional archer and respected coach John Dudley has also started his bowhunting season off right. Check out the photo and caption below that was posted to Easton Archery’s Facebook page.

Another post on Easton Archery’s Facebook page caught my eye, and it featured legendary tournament shooter and hunter Randy Ulmer.

P.S. In addition to velvet-racked muleys, I couldn’t help but notice bowhunters tagging some big pronghorns, too. Also from the Easton Archery Facebook page, I especially liked this buck taken by a client of well-known archer/outfitter Fred Eichler.

Archery season has kicked off in Colorado! Opening day buck taken with us at #fulldrawoutfitters. Steven is a police officer from Georgia and took his first antelope using a Hoyt Turbo Hawk, Easton Carbon Hexx, TRUGLO sights and Nockturnal Nocks out of my Muddy pop up. You can see it on Team GSA hunting on YouTube in a few months. Congrats Steven!
