When it comes to producing excellent ice fishing videos, in my opinion no one tops Clayton Schick. He spends the vast majority of his time on various lakes in Manitoba. He’s fun to watch because he targets several different species, and he always does his best to capture the best possible footage for those who check out his videos. He uses multiple cameras and does a great job editing his content.
Viewing tip: The video below is long, 32 minutes. I’m an avid ice fisherman so I enjoyed all of it, but if you’re pressed for time and simply want to get right to the best action, then fast-forward to the following times to see the best pike encounters: 5:37; 5:46; 5:58; 11:40; 14:08; 26:27 (two lines down); and saving the best for last, 28:40 (trying to stay awake!).
FYI: As he mentions, Clayton is using a barbless hook, which is Manitoba law. Does this contribute to the outcome with his largest pike? Probably. The final slow-motion replay (beginning at 31:20) is epic.
P.S. I encourage you to also watch the first 5 minutes so you understand the tremendous amount of effort it takes to drill/cut a massive sight-fishing hole through nearly 3 feet of ice for this video. Crazy!
