Video: NFL Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Learns to Shoot a Bow

The popularity of the National Football League cannot be overstated, and one of its biggest stars, quarterback Aaron Rodgers, recently joined well-known bowhunter Cameron Hanes (above, right) on an episode of Cam’s “Lift, Run, Shoot.”

Rodgers, who played most of his Hall of Fame worthy career with the Green Bay Packers, was traded to the New York Jets in 2023. During the first game of the 2023 season, he was carted off the field after only four plays. His season-ending injury was diagnosed as an Achilles tendon rupture.

The recovery has gone well for Rodgers, and he looks forward to joining the Jets for the 2024 season. As you’ll see in the 15-minute YouTube video below, he’s healthy enough to join Hanes on a .7-mile hike to the Spencer Butte Summit (Eugene, Oregon), and also works out in Cam’s weight room.

Prior to hiking and lifting, Cam drives Aaron to The Bow Rack in Springfield, Oregon. There, he’s helped by Wayne Endicott (above, left), who has owned and operated the pro shop for about 30 years. Wayne sets up a Hoyt compound for Aaron, adjusts the peep sight, provides tips on proper anchor point, using the release, etc.

It’ll be interesting to see whether Rodgers continues to shoot, and if he takes up bowhunting after he retires from the NFL.

FYI: Unfortunately, there is some bad language in the video.
