Bowhunting is a game of “how close” not “how far,” so it’s critical to have gear — including the bow itself — that is as quiet as possible.
In the 3.75-minute YouTube video below, well-known bowhunter and legendary tournament shooter Levi Morgan demonstrates how he quiets down the bow shelf of his hunting rig with felt tape.
As Morgan shows, for the tape to be cut properly and then stick in place, it must have an adhesive backing. Whether it’s camo or not is really irrelevant; a deer or elk won’t notice or care. There are certainly less-expensive tape options that will work if you search for them, but the most-popular choice among bowhunters is Stealth Strips.
