Sometimes you can really benefit from toting one of the lightest bows available: high country elk and mule deer come immediately to mind, and of course on sheep or mountain goat hunts where every ounce may count even more.

Any time weight is a consideration Hoyt's carbon-riser bows need to be considered, but then again Hoyt needs to be considered any time the goal is a high-quality, premium bow. 

Carbon Spyder 30

For 2014 Hoyt offers six new bows in two series, the Carbon Spyder series and the Faktor series. Not to be confused with Hoyt’s previous successful Spyder bows, the Carbon Spyder bows feature Hoyt’s latest improvements to its tubular carbon risers, making these lightweight, warm-to-the-touch bows even stronger, more stable, and quieter.

Designed to elicit a “Wow,” the Carbon Spyder bows are powered by the new Z5 Cam & 1/2 system and boast all Hoyt’s newest technology including the radical, but now-proven AirShox limb suppressors, Perfect Balance Offset stabilizer design, Silent Shelf, and Pro Fit custom grip options. All three Carbon Spyder bows are available in draw weights of 50, 60, 65, 70, and 80 pounds, and all offer finish options of Realtree Xtra, Realtree Max-1, Black Out, as well as a number of custom camo and target color options.

The Carbon Spyder 30 is Hoyt’s first 30-inch axle-to-axle carbon bow. It’s available in cam-specific draw lengths of 24 to 25.5 inches, 26 to 28 inches, or 28 to 30 inches, and has a brace height of 63⁄4  inches. With a mass weight of 3.6 pounds, it is extremely smooth-shooting and as close to dead-in-the-hand as a compound bow gets. IBO speed is 332 fps, and retail price for this bow is $1,500.

Carbon Spyder Turbo

The Carbon Spyder Turbo reaches speeds up to 340 fps with a somewhat skinnier 6-inch brace height and an axle-to-axle length of 33 inches. Mass weight is a negligible 2 ounces heavier at 3.8 pounds. The Carbon Spyder Turbo retails for $1,500.
