Three New Compounds From Obsession Bows

Unveiled during the 2019 Archery Trade Association (ATA) Show, these three new compounds from Obsession Bows received a lot of attention on the indoor shooting lanes.

I enjoy attending the annual ATA Show each winter, and while cruising the Show floor and stopping at various manufacturer booths is fun, my favorite part of the 3-day event is stopping at the many indoor shooting lanes to test-drive new vertical and horizontal bows. One set of shooting lanes was especially busy at ATA 2019, and while I had to patiently stand in line to try out the new compounds from Obsession Bows, it was well worth the wait.

First to catch my eye was the Obsession FX30. As the name suggests, this bow measures only 30 inches axle-to-axle. The FX30 generates speeds up to 360 fps and was designed for treestands and hunting blinds.

Next in the new-for-2019 lineup is the Obsession FXL. With an IBO rating up to 350 fps, the FXL is designed for both speed and forgiveness. It measures 34.5 inches axle-to-axle and has a brace height of 6.5 inches. This bow should perform well on the tournament line and in the field, especially for those bowhunters who desire a bow that excels at long range.

Last but certainly not least is the Obsession Lawless. With a brace height of only 5.125 inches, this 32.75-inch bow launches arrows up to 370 fps but is still comfortable to shoot. An anti-torque cable rod makes for a smoother draw cycle, and a torqueless custom grip ensures heat-of-the-moment accuracy by providing proper, consistent hand alignment.

Each of these three new compounds from Obsession Bows has a suggested retail price of $999.
