LANGDON, N.H. (AP) — A biologist in New Hampshire says he's getting a lot of calls about coyotes and warns people to keep their pets inside at night.
WMUR-TV reports that the coyotes are hunting more right now, killing deer, house cats and anything else they find.
Ted Walski, New Hampshire Fish and Game's southwest regional biologist, tells the television station he's had more than 10 calls recently in the Keene area for deer being taken by coyote.
He says it's important to keep pets inside because the coyotes are eating, a lot, at this time of year. They've already bred are expecting young in April.
And, he says, in winter they run more in packs to get more success when they hunt.
